Bio

If a songwriter is good enough and works his craft long enough at some point his music can pass the level of radio pop and become something more...something richer.  Joe Montgomery writes musical short stories that linger long after the song is over.  You may find yourself mentally refering to John Steinbeck or Kurt Vonnegut rather than his musical reference points of Steve Earle, Willis Alan Ramsey and Randy Newman.  You can tell his roots are in Oklahoma red dirt and Texas high plains.  His CD's harken back to the days when music was just music..not a marketing decision or image refinement.

Joe has played everywhere from Los Angeles dives to busking on London streets.  He has won national music contests and had his music played on radio stations around the world.  He is not famous.  He may never be.  But his music is real and substantial, songs that will come back to you years and decades later.
